What is the difference between a stretch film and a shrink film?

The stretch film is designed to wrap the load to provide stability. On the other hand, shrink film protects a single product and bundles multiple products.


·Stretch film adopts polyethylene plastic, shrink film adopts polyolefin plastic


·Shrink film for packaging and stretch film for transportation.

Stretch film can be coated by machine or hand, shrink film can be coated by heat.
Compared with shrink packaging, stretch packaging saves raw materials, does not require a heat shrink packaging machine, and saves energy. The shrink film is used in conjunction with the heat shrink machine, the texture is more fragile.


·Stretch film has high strength and strong elasticity. It can pack goods of any geometric shape, and can avoid damage caused by bundling the goods. It has good anti-loosening, rainproof, dustproof, anti-theft and other effects. Shrink film processing does not produce moisture and non-stick products. Easy to maintain and operate. Suitable for automatic packaging of high-speed production lines.


·Stretched film can produce single-sided adhesive products, reduce the noise generated during winding and stretching, and reduce dust and sand during transportation and storage. Shrink film shrink packaging materials are stored for a long time and are stable. Electrostatic anti-fog treatment, not easy to pollute dust, can keep the product clean and bright.


Both shrink film and stretch film belong to PE film, and they both belong to outer packaging protection film, but the two are essentially different in use and production process.
